The Holidays are just around the corner. I have managed to pick up a few random gifts for my kids the last few months but above that I really haven't started yet. I did create a page on my Notes ap on my new fancy iPhone as an attempt to be organized and efficient this year. All of my family members are listed neatly with a few random suggestions or ideas.
The reality of Christmas gift giving is I typically wait until the last minute and then spend the majority of a week on Shutterfly creating wonderful gifts like calendars and coffee mugs with pictures of the kids. The Grandparents love these! I may have to resort to mouse pads or coasters this year - pretty sure everyone has a matching set of coffee mugs now. Custom calendars are the greatest invention on Shutterfly. We all need a new calendar every year. With a click of a mouse, I can drop in some photos at the last minute and ta-da a beautiful gift that keeps on giving all year long!
So why stress over the inevitable?
The calendars are a go for sure this year!
Instead of spending the time trying to find unique gifts throughout the month of November, I have decided to spend that time hunting for every possible coupon code, Groupon, or discount known to man for all of my Shutterfly desires.
For example, I buy diapers. I buy a LOT of diapers with two kids under the age of three - we are getting close to having one out of them but for now I buy a lot of diapers - and spend a fortune.
Like flights, hotel chains and credit card companies, Pampers has a rewards program. You just have to save these little stickers off every package, take the time to input the numbers on the Pampers website and start racking up your points. I have been doing this since our Brown Eyed Girl was born and have managed to cash in our rewards points a few times.
Most of the time I wait until I have several to enter all at once. The process looks about like this:
But the savings is well worth the effort!
If you have one still in diapers, start saving those reward points. If you don't want to bother and your brand of choice is Pampers, email me your reward numbers!
This is great advice. (I usually manage our money-saving efforts, but this one is actually Cabbage's domain.) I'd add that sites like diapers.com often run great promos or offer coupon codes and shipping may be free. Score!
