Oh Thomas

My Brown Eyed Girl is really enjoying waking up every morning and searching for Thomas. As soon as her peepers open, she hurries down the stairs to find me so we can go on a Thomas hunt. "Mommy, where is that tricky Thomas? Let's go find him!" Off we go in search of Thomas.

Thomas sure does hold a lot of power.

It has been glorious to be able to use him as my backup plan in parenting.

Our Brown Eyed Girl is even using a little reverse psychology on us. Don't you dare say a naughty word or raise your voice in debate. My little Brown Eyed Girl will rush quickly into the room and remind you that, "The elf is watching. Do you want presents or don't you Daddy?"

Elf on a Shelf has been so fun for her.

Even Mr Blue Eyes has been spotting Thomas around the house. If you ask him where the elf is, he will run right up to him and point him out.

I think over the next few years, Thomas will make many memories for our family.

Here is where we have been finding Thomas lately.

That reminds me Thomas, I need to buy some more wine...

Making sure the stockings were hung with care.

Saturday night Grandma Debbie hung her wreaths. Sunday morning we found Thomas lounging in the fresh pine watching the snow fall.

This morning, I was very excited to see that we had chosen an elf that was also a fellow equestrian. How perfect for Thomas to also be an equine enthusiast!

Not to mention, it appeared that Thomas was starting to feel a little more at home and comfortable with us. He was starting to entertain himself a little compared to just perching in places throughout the house.

Unfortunately at 5:30 in the morning, our Brown Eyed Girl's excitement was quickly extinguished when she realized she could not play with her horse for an ENTIRE day. Remember, if you touch Thomas his powers go away. Of course, not that she has even played with this beautiful palomino in the last week.

Never the less, once she knew she couldn't... she wanted it.

It took some convincing, but she finally decided for just today Thomas could ride her horse.

Thomas, his morning's surprise was not as fun as you and I both thought it would be. As excited as we are to have you, you might want to curb your desire to ride for a while.
