Just last week some friends of ours donated Butterscotch to our
family. As if we needed one more toy in this house let alone a stuffed horse
the size of a Shetland pony.
My Brown Eyed Girl woke with the sun this morning and was so
excited to get dressed up and take Butterscotch out for a ride. She made sure
to inform me that princesses rode side saddle, with their lovely long dresses
flowing over the horses bum.
Mr Blue Eyes finally inherited the old rocking horse. Ahhhh finally all was quiet, no fighting, no pinching, no hitting, no whining. Peace and harmony.
I left them galloping through imaginary fields of green while
I went out to feed the real hay burners standing out by the barn in my pajamas.
Upon my return to the house…
My little Brown Eyed Girl had moved on from lady like riding
and was training Butterscotch to be a trick horse.
Liberty stance perfected, she was contemplating fender hangs
and cossack drags. (Makes a mother proud – and scares the crap out of me all at
the same time!)
I told her to take it easy and we compromised on vaulting poses... at least for today.
PS pay no attention to the mess in the background... just focus on the trick rider and her new mount, Butterscotch.
