Sticking to the Back to School tradition I have established with my Brown Eyed Girl, I dusted off the old vintage chalk board and sadly wiped away last year's first day of school log.
Pre-K and dreams of being a Librarian.
This year my Brown Eyed Girl said good by to her old school and Hello! to the neighborhood elementary school.
Kindergarten!
My Brown Girl woke with the sun (no surprise there) eager to start her first day of school.
This year she was on the fence as to what she wanted to be when she grows up. Ultimately, her love for swimming won her over and we are happy to announce that some day my Brown Eyed Girl would like to be a Swimming Teacher.
My baby...
My sweet, sweet, little boy...
Preschool.
And with out a doubt, someday he wants to be a Fireman!
My Brown Eyed Girl had a half day of school her first day for orientation and assessments. As I looked down at my little girl, I saw an I-am-so-excited-and-nervous-not-sure-if-she-should-cry-scream-shout-or-hide mix of emotions in her eyes that she masked with an overly large and cheesy smile.
Once we walked Sis to her new room and met her new teacher, this cute kid and I headed into town.
And because this was his VERY FIRST of all first days of school, I treated him to breakfast. He wanted "cones and chocky-milk." The perfect first day of school meal!
He too was beaming with excitement. Sissy's old school was now his NEW school and he was 100% a big boy now!
A couple hours later and this goof ball was still smiling after his first day was over!
Two days later, our Brown Eyed Girl (equipped with a Frozen back pack, Elsa shirt and Elsa braid) met her teacher on the school lawn for her first full (no nap) day of school.
Her assessment day didn't really hit me very hard. But this day, it sure tugged at the old heart strings.
