Milk Can Makeover

I have had these two antique milk cans for at least 15 years sitting on my patio. I painted them gray as many years ago and have moved them three times throughout the years.

Fixtures, they have recently evolved into more of an eye sore than treasured pieces adding character and charm to my doorstep. I started Pinning different milk can makeover ideas this summer.

I really liked the idea of painting an "M" on the can and the date Handy Man and I were married.

I really liked the look of adding a burlap ribbon to the milk can like this one.

Off the the home improvement store for some paint and supplies!

A coat of fresh paint, free handed "M" and the year we were married... a burlap ribbon...

I just L-O-V-E-D this can's new look!

Since it's fall, I added some rust colored flowers and my DIY smile got a little bigger.

For the first time in my adult life I have a welcoming, seasonal porch.

In a couple weeks the kids and I will add our pumpkins for the final touches.

I also bought some red burlap ribbon and I am already planning my winter/Christmas porch idea!

I painted the second can black as well. I have been working on refreshing this little landscaping area along our driveway and walkway up to the house. I just planted a bunch of bulbs last weekend and stuck the second milk can in the middle with our house number painted on the front.

This area is still a work in progress, but I am liking the way it is all coming together!
