Handy Man got up about 6:00 am to let Boji outside and from my room I heard Mr Blue Eyes come out into the hall and he croaked in a freshly woken voice, "It's my Birthday Day! Today is MY Birthday Day!!!"
In traditional Birthday Day fashion, we started the celebration off with some homemade birthday pancakes. He was excited to get to use the special red plate and have a candle in his pancake.
I could only hold off the present opening until after breakfast (barely).
More Legos and HUGE remote control helicopter were among the favorite gifts this year.
Pretty sure Handy Man went a little overboard on the helicopter. It's really meant for outside flying and way too sophisticated for a four year old to fly. I do believe that I should have saved this gift for Handy Man on his birthday in September. But Mr Blue Eyes is obsessed with helicopters and appears to be content with watching daddy fly it. (for now)
Daddy had another surprise up his sleeve for the birthday boy's special day. We loaded up the whole family and took the kids to the driving range for the very first time. Mr Blue Eyes was a kid in a candy store!
He loves golfing!

Our Brown Eyed Girl also enjoyed golfing with the family.
She was amazed at how far Daddy could hit the ball.
Daddy gave her a few pointers too.
Pretty soon she was hitting better than I can hit my irons.
Today, I said a little prayer for golfing scholarships in our future!
After golfing we spent the rest of the day playing outside and doing "Birthday Day Boy Stuff." Like playing with water guns.

And after dinner ate some birthday cookie cake! Hand picked by the birthday boy himself.
Four looks good on him!
It's going to be a great year!
