This year, I hung my wreath up with all of the other Christmas decorations and I was reminded how much I really loved the idea of capturing their tiny little hands while they were still so small. In 20 years, this wreath will no doubt be a treasured part of our holidays that will remind me how much they have grown and changed.
The reality is before I know it they won't be so little anymore. I have decided to do something like the wreath every year while they are still small and they will still tolerate my Pinterest addiction.
This year, we made Santa hand prints for our family members and reindeer foot prints for our personal decorations. After trolling Pinterest, I took a few examples I liked and then made them my own.
Santa inspirations...
Our Santa Hands
I even grabbed my nieces while they were visiting and made some Santa Hands for Handy Man's Sister and one with all four grand kids for Grandma Debbie and Grandpa Matt.
I really was not very happy with what I was able to find for reindeer. After a lot of scrolling, this was probably my best inspiration.
These projects really are fun for the kids. What kid doesn't want to be given the opportunity to put their hands and feet in paint? My muses were ecstatic to participate.
Just have every thing all laid out ahead of time and know they steps you want to take so you don't get paint every where. News papers, lots of news papers. I also recommend doing this in the kitchen so you can wash up promptly and easily.
Paper plates work perfect for the paint and then you can just wrap it all up and pitch it.
Our Reindeer
My Brown Eyed Girl insisted on a pink nosed, girl reindeer.
They turned out great and looked awesome next to the tree!
