Three very excited little princesses and one grumpy little Scrooge.
I get it dude. When you are the only boy in the family, you get out-voted and end up playing dress-up, Barbies, My Little Ponies, watching every princes movie known to man and attend ice capades instead of monster truck rallies. Hang in there buddy.
I promised to treat everyone to ONE gift. The girls were elated and started shopping as soon as we came across the first vendor stand.
Three necklaces, one spinning twirling flash light thingy that will poke your eye out and $80 bucks later...
We found our awesome seats - second row from the ice - and waited for the show to start. All three girls were wiggling and giggling while they waited. Mr Blue Eyes was still frowning and pouting.
But there is nothing $82 worth of $3 straws and plastic collector cups filled with shaved ice and syrup can't fix! You think I am kidding... fluffing the story. I am very serious.
That smile and attitude adjustment was totally worth a $20 snow cone!
I can proudly say that he ate all of that shaved ice.
Can't say the same for the girls... but they were having the time of their life!
We were entertained by skaters for two hours and the kids enjoyed seeing their favorite characters from The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Rapunzel and Brave.
My Brown Eyed Girl and Gracie sat on the edge of their seats the entire show. Smiling and swaying to the songs they know by heart.
Grandpa Matt watched their expressions more than he saw the ice capades. I think as parents, we really don't go to these over priced venues for the "show." We spend an arm and a leg and give our kidneys as collateral so we can watch their faces gleam and their hearts race as they are amazed and entertained in the magic of the show. The memories they will carry is the reward for us as parents.
It was a good show.
The seats were so awesome that the characters were right there! Icing on the cake!
Yep, gonna poke an eye out with that thing...
