Faces

Our Brown Eyed Girl has always loved to draw. She has always had a hint of artistic talent. No doubt shared from her Grand-pop's blood.

Since she was 1, our Brown Eyed Girl has been able to hold a pen or pencil just like an adult. She instinctively did this. We never showed her. It was amazing.

She has been drawing shapes for as long as we can remember - circles, then triangles followed by squares.

Our pediatrician's office gives us a little development questionnaire to be completed at each milestone visit to tract her physical and social development. I couldn't help but giggle with pride in February when the 3 year-old questionnaire asked about the ability to draw a circle.

She's been drawing circles since she was barely 2.

Yes, I am bragging!

I am proud if my talented and smart little cookie!

The other night, Handy Man and I were winding down and I was forcing him to watch The Voice. (a girl can only handle so many Steven Sagal movies before she has to kick and scream and throw a tantrum to watch something other than that bird guy in one more cheesy film.)

All of a sudden, Handy Man quietly motioned to draw my attention to our Brown Eyed Girl hard at work on her easel. We were amazed! It looked like a face.

So I asked her, "Honey, what-cha drawing?"

Without taking her eyes off her masterpiece, "A princess."

"That is so good! She is beautiful!" My eyes sparkling with pride.

Sometimes there are just no ways to describe the joys of watching your children grow.
