Mr Blue Eyes has really been enjoying eating finger foods. He skillfully uses his little pointer finger and thumb to grasp each pea sized morsel. He proudly chomps each piece with his pearly white chick-lit teeth that adorn his handsome little smile. He has four teeth now!
His ability to feed himself has been a huge weight off my shoulders. I can come home from work and get him all set up with diced piece of bananas, cheese and crackers. I then have the freedom to tend to our Brown Eyed Girl, start cooking dinner using both hands, read the mail... you name it, I can now do it!
It's very liberating for a parent when their little babe can feed them selves.
Shoot I have even been able to eat luke warm meals myself.
I am in heaven - the luxury.
Thanks to our built-in-automatic-vacuum cleaner, Boji, I never have to worry about cleaning up mini bits of cheese, strawberries, hamburger from the floor.
Sometimes Mr Blue Eyes gets all crazy and silly and thinks it's pretty cute to swipe his hands from side to side on his tray sending his dinner flying all over. He promptly looks down at Boji and watches the old dog find every last dropped piece. No food goes to waist in this little house on the prairie!
Boys!
They can be so silly.
They do the darnedest things.
And then there is this...
I'm really not sure what to say about this.
I never experienced this with our Brown Eyed Girl.
I washed Mr Blue Eyes' hands and face - like always.
Unbuckled him from the high chair - like always.
Stood him up to brush off the crumbs (Boji assuming the possition of vacuum cleaner) - like always.
And then I noticed that there was a full apple wheel stuck to the back of Mr Blue Eyes' shirt.
I had seen him get a little silly, flinging food from side to side - like always.
But nothing too crazy.
How did you get that back there little dude? You are the silliest!
And then there was more...
Held snugly for safe keeping, in case he got hungry later, he had stashed a little take out dinner.
A well balanced snack.
Two pieces of cheese and three parts goldfish crackers.
Maybe he wants to be a Boy Scout when he gets bigger - Always Prepared!
