Cars go "Vroooom."
This is perhaps the first product endorsement I have made here. However, the more we play with these little cars the more and more I can't help but want to rave about the.
I searched the isles of the toy section for an hour trying to decide what I should get Mr Blue Eyes for his first Birthday. It's was a very hard decision. The kids really don't need any more toys. None. Zip. Nada. As baby number two, Mr Blue Eyes inherited a plethora of toys. Then, by the time you tell all the grandparents, aunts and uncles what he needs, that doesn't leave very many options for dear mom and dad.
I finally decided we needed more cars for our little boy. The little Matchbox or Hot Wheel cars were out of the question. Those suckers hurt when you step on them at two-o-clock in the morning. They hurt even in the day light. No more little, metal cars. Well, for as long as I can avoid it.
I found these super cute, reasonably priced, big, chunky, brightly colored cars by a toy company called B. Yep, just B. The full, product name is "B. Wheeee-ls."
The package comes with 4 chunky cars made from soft, squishy plastic. You can pull them back and let them go on any smooth surface. The best part, no batteries needed! The car rings, the truck chimes, the racer rattles and the taxi squeaks.
Mr Blue Eyes instantly loved them.
What amazed me most was how quickly he learned to scoot across the floor motoring the cars around, never letting go. Driving those little cars from one end of the house to the other.
Handy Man and I both lay on the floor and zoom them back and forth. Both kids giggle.
Hours of entertainment.
Of course outside, he is still obsessed with his rocks...
... and the down spout.
I'd like to say that while Mr Blue Eyes plays with rocks, down spouts and cars that his sister, currently referring to herself as Purple Princess The Tangled this week - not to be confused by just Tangled for short, it's the whole enchilada, Purple Princess THE Tangled - is playing with Barbies or baby dolls.
But she is not.
She's busy playing with her rope.
...and searching for Bugs.
Lately the bug missions have revolved around moths - aka mops.
But today...
Grasshoppers - aka Grap-hopper
Thanks to a little help from Miss Kitty, our future entomologist, Purple Princess THE Tangled, has captured a gigantic specimen.
I think Miss Kitty may have injured that one a little. Might need a bug doctor to splint that leg...
Shortly after this photo, the grap-hopper decided to make one last valiant effort in self preservation and squirmed, kicking a few limbs free. Purple Princess THE Tangled may have momentarily revisited her future career path.
I believe she is sticking to working with just mops.
Speaking of mops...
This little motor head needs a trim.
There will be no mullets in this family come hell or high water!
